My assemblages are visual ideas, with feelings of animism, inspired by my appreciation of the worlds of nature, mythology, society, and identity.
For years, I have been gathering and working with materials native to the agricultural and historic countryside of southeastern Pennsylvania.
17th and 18th century household hardware and farm implements, carpenters', masons', gardeners' tools are among the artifacts.
Some of my work is kinesthetic, with spring torsos, rotating arms, and wheel feet. I use steel pins, and copper and brass wire, not welding, as a technique for assembly.
